Book Review: Obsession in Death by Nora Roberts
Obsession in Death by J.D. Robb
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was one of J. D. Robb's better ones. It's the 40th of Robb's "In Death" series.
Someone is killing people who have somehow offended Lt. Eve Dallas, and escaped justice. The killer appears to be killing on Eve's behalf, reaching out for friendship and partnership. For Eve, this is doubly troubling. It's bad enough that someone's committing murders, but to do so for her - especially since the victims are only peripheral to her life - weighs on her.
Can she find the killer, and/or turn the killer's attention on to her before the next victim?
Of course she can. With these stories, it's not about the whether, but the how.
It's interesting to see so many minor characters from previous books make guest appearances in this one. We see what's become of them, and how they've been impacted by their interactions with Eve.
