Blog 365...
8. What's the last "good" thing you ate?
Aha! I had oatmeal for breakfast just a few minutes ago. With pecans, cranberries and maple. Quite healthy.

In my life...
I saw the world premiere of Morality Play yesterday, and I really liked it. I'm looking forward to reading the book it was based on.

I know it's ridiculous to keep commenting on how cold the weather is... hello, this is New England in January. But it's f'ckn freezing. I stood in the 0 degree and high winds for 15 minutes, waiting for the bus this morning. Three hours later and my hands are still cold. I'm sending out special prayers for those who are homeless right now. I can't even imagine.

Speaking of the cold, Providence schools are closed due to the dangerous weather, prompting sharp and harsh criticism from the "we've become a nation of wimps and babies" faction.

The kids are still sick. It's been a week since their trip to the ER, and so far they've only improved marginally. I feel like we need to empty the house and disinfect it, and then every item in it before we bring them back in. Sheesh.

I finished Norwegian by Night, and started Dewitched, the Untold Story of the Evil Queen

In the world...
On of the gunmen who shot and killed 12 in a Paris newspaper yesterday has turned himself in. The other two are still at large, and another police officer has been killed outside Paris.  All this because the gunmen were offended by the newspaper's humor. #JeSuisCharlie

Scientists have found a new antibiotic that kills drug-resistant pathogens. Let's hope we learned our lesson from previous antibios, and don't throw this at every possible infection.
