June 12, 2014

Today's blog every day in June challenge (by Kwizgiver) is:
Your favorite color and a picture showing it.
Seriously, my favorite color depends on my mood, but it tends - tends - to shift among three: a soft pink, royal purple, and teal. The three together put me in mind of a lightning storm over the ocean. So we'd take the pinks and purples from here,
and add in the deep blue-green of the sea.
For my someday-bedroom, I envision pale pink walls, so pale as to be neutral. A white pintucked bedspread and faux fur area rug, with accents in purple, teal and silver - the effect will be both energizing and soothing at the same time. Like a thunderstorm when you're safe inside.

Speaking of art, today's MetMuseum calendar was this:
Something about it appeals to me. Garden at Vaucresson by Édouard Vuillard (French, Cuiseaux 1868–1940 La Baule) Date: 1920; reworked 1926, 1935, 1936 Medium: Distemper on canvas

and in more art, I've finally gotten my hands on the book Star Wars: Visions. It's a collection of Star Wars-inspired artwork in various media.

  1. I'm so with you on the first one. I don't know why it is, but the colors of the sky fascinate me. Even the stormy colors attract me. Maybe that's why I wear so much blue ....
