May 13, 2014

Who cares about anything else? My granddaughter was born early this morning at 12:29. Baby Pem weighed in at 6 lbs 10 oz, 19-1/4" long. Mami and baby are doing well. Of course, she's the prettiest baby of all.

Just for today, I don't care that the arctic glaciers are retreating irretrievably. Tomorrow that will bother me a lot, but not today.

Blog every day in May: Write a poem or piece of creative prose

All I can think about is: babies.
The pictures of baby Pem, who I so want to hold.
Seeing my little Pea when she was only a few days old.
Seeing the Peeper's little eyes looking at me when she was born.
Seeing the Pappo, who was such a sleepy baby.

Babies, babies, babies. Still growing.
Smiles and hugs and cookie breath when they get older.

Something that made me happy today: see above.
