Movie review: Being John Malkovich

watch Being John Malkovich on Amazon
Interesting what-if, wherein a down-and-out puppeteer finds a portal into John Malkovich's brain, where he can see and hear and experience everything Malkovich does for 15 minutes. Naturally, he sells tickets. But a puppeteer needs a puppet...

I watched this for my 3rd 101 things in 1001 days, as one of the 50 films that were never nominated for an Oscar for best picture.

Honestly, the premise is good, but it was a little too out of control. I didn't really like any of the characters. It's unlikely that I'd watch it again.

  1. I couldn't figure out if it was trying to be funny or trying to be hip, or what kind of movie it was.

    1. I've noticed there are quite a few of those 50 movies that never got an Oscar that are probably "not my thing."
