Movie review: Ghostbusters

Stream Ghostbusters at Amazon
Parapsychologists Pete Venkman, Egon Spengler and Ray Stantz have been studying the paranormal for years, although Venkman is more of a con artist than a true scientist. So when real ghosts start popping up around Manhattan, they're in the perfect position to make a buck off their talents.

And when a beautiful cellist's apartment is haunted, it give lecherous Venkman the opportunity to skirt-chase in the name of science. But the otherworldly forces aren't as happy-go-lucky. They have a plan for New York. Will the ghostbusters be able to stop it?

Another on the list of 50 that never received an Oscar. Although honestly, it really doesn't deserve one. The performances are solid, and the movie's a lot of fun, but the movie doesn't have the gravitas that the Academy usually looks for.

  1. I saw it recently and thought it didn't age well. But I remember how much fun it was at the time.

    1. I agree, Kwiz. The movie hasn't aged all that well, but it's still a fun watch.
