Dr. Scholls Massaging Gel Inserts Bzz Agent report: Slip-sliding away
I have trouble with my feet, so I was really looking forward to trying Dr. Scholls Massaging Gel Inserts through BzzAgent.
Specifically, I have problems with a surgical scar on the bottom of one foot that tends to cause discomfort and a pulling sensation. I was hoping the massaging insoles would provide some relief.
The inserts arrived, and I immediately took them out of the package to put into my favorite pair of shoes: a pair of black leather Sketcher flats. The inserts were much too big, but the they have very easy-to-follow and intuitive markings on them to cut them down to the right size. They were ready in less than 2 minutes.
With the inserts in place, I was off! The first thing I noticed was the nice cushion beneath my heel. However I soon discovered that the massage was not what I expected at all. Instead of the gel massaging in the bottom of my foot, I discovered that my foot slid back and forth in my shoe, effectively meaning that my foot was massaging the inside of my shoe.
My feet would slide forward, and my toes would get squished in the toe of the shoe, then slide back and rub my heel against the back of the shoe. I gave it a few days of regular wear before I gave up altogether. I'm going to replace the insoles with something else.
Based on this, I really can't recommend the product to anyone else. I'd especially recommend against them being worn with heels, since the foot would slide down into the toe and be very uncomfortable.
*As a BzzAgent, I received a free pair of the inserts to try and report on.

That was one thing I didn't like about being a BZZ Agent: having to give something a negative review. But, you've got to be honest about it!
ReplyDeleteI agree completely! The idea is supposed to be that they want honest feedback, and that's what they get.
DeleteI love how you constructed your review. It's detailed enough to explain why you didn't like the product but short enough to hold our interest. And, as one who has lingering scar trouble (though mine is on my tummy), I liked knowing I'm not alone.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much! I can relate to the scar trouble on the tummy, too. No massaging insoles for that!
DeleteHave you worn those memory gel-like shoes? I have a pair of Nike flip flops like that and they are soooo comfy - melding to my feet and providing constant cushion. The only drawback is that they get heavy and squishy when wet!
ReplyDeleteSkechers are my shoe of choice - like wearing slippers.
