Book review: Rapunzel's Revenge by Nathan Hale
Rapunzel's Revenge by Nathan Hale.
A graphic novel retelling of Rapunzel, set in the old west.
I thought the new setting made the story interesting, although the storytelling itself was choppy, and the characters were pretty wooden.
It's supposed to be a feminist fairy tale, and it is, in that Rapunzel rescues herself and takes her own revenge. Even so, there's not a lot of growth on her part.
I can't remember how this book was recommended to me, but it was only "okay," and it's unlikely I'll be seeking out more by this author.
