1) I love art. Paintings, sculpture, music, design, tattoos, graffiti. If it's beautiful to me, then it's art.
2) I'm a problem-solver, a fixer.
3) I love to laugh, and to make people laugh. Often, humor is the best medicine. Other than medicine.
4) I don't wear makeup. First, I don't trust the chemicals, either for my skin or for the environment. Second, this is what I look like. If you don't like it, look at something else.
5) I rely on my computer far too much. My home computer is down and I'm lost. Lost, I say.

"Today in the U.S. we honor Martin Luther King, Jr. in observance of his birthday - a very strong figure for the civil rights movement and humanity in general. He was also a very spiritual man - a Reverend who received his doctorate in theology from my alma matar, Boston University. His speeches took on the nature of a preacher tending his congregation - which is probably why they were so moving. I'm not familiar with any movies based on the life of this amazing man. But spiritual leaders across all religions have been presented to us on the screen in all different lights. Those doing good works, others masquerading as good. Stereotypes, humorous twists and everyday roles. Priests, nuns, preachers, rabbis - you name it, hollywood has cast it. Here are a variety of examples we came up with. Share on your blog movies that feature a religious character role, linking back here at The Bumbles. And don't forget to visit your fellow participants!"
- Doubt: A priest's motivations are questioned when he takes an interest in the new (only) black student at the Catholic school in 1964 in the Bronx.
- Boys Town: Father Flanagan opens a home for wayward and unwanted boys in 1920's Nebraska.
- Schindler's List: A German businessman becomes an unwilling savior as he protects his Jewish slave laborers from Nazi extermination. Included: Schindler allows the rabbi to hold Sabbath services in his factory.
- The Frisco Kid: A Polish rabbi must trek his way from Philadelphia to San Francisco to take over his congregation. Along the way he's aided by Amish farmers, friendly Native Americans and a long-suffering cowboy.
- Going My Way/The Bells of St. Mary's: Father O'Malley solves problems through faith and song.
