Thoughts of Thanksgiving bring me to...

Christmas. ::sigh::

Thanksgiving really gets the short end, doesn't it? It's completely lost in the bru-haha that is the Christmas shopping season.

Christmas is my favorite holiday, but Fall is my favorite season, and it bothers me that it's cut nearly in half by marketing featuring snow and fake pine trees.

So it was with mixed feelings that while looking for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade site, I stumbled across this...

Macy's Celebrity Tree Auction
14 celebrities have decorated "trees" to auction off. The proceeds will go to Make a Wish. Good deeds, good cause, interesting designs. I'll try to remember to keep an eye on this. It'll be interesting to see which trees sell, and for how much. I hope that when the campaign actually launches, they'll have larger photos of the trees.

  2. IN THEORY, I agree it's too early to begin with Christmas. But then, last night, I happened into Macy's and, like you, was enchanted by all I saw. I admit I loved all the red and the silver and the carols. Even though I feel like I'm cheating on Thanksgiving ...
