Spritzdekor

This is what I get for reading old issues of magazines. O wrote about Spritzdekor - a style that came into popularity in Germany between the World Wars that involved spray (or spritz) painting on white china. The style made its way around the Eastern part of the continent and into Russia. Although originally designed for middle class families' everyday use, it now fetches a pretty price when you can find it.

I think the patterns and spray-painted style are terrific, and I love the variety. Of course I want some. Perhaps I'll have to find a way to reproduce the look.

  1. Very nice, Ericka. May be early twentieth century but as with most things, what was old becomes new again.
