One of my 101 things in 1001 days is to photograph the Unisphere.

Fortunately, I was able to combine that with a visit with Mary T of Work of the Poet. It turns out that she and her husband live in Queens, so it was a good meeting place. The Unisphere is surrounded by a fountain, that was under repair when I went to take pictures.

We took pictures, and talked, and visited the Panorama at the Queens Museum of Art.

I had no idea that the park (which housed the 1939 and 1964 Worlds Fairs) was so big, or that there are other statues to see, also from the 94 Fair.

I had a great visit with Mary and her husband, and look forward to getting together with them again sometime, and seeing the park when the weather is cooler and the restoration of the fountain is complete.
