Denmark's "Little Mermaid" statue goes to China

In an effort to impress the Chinese hosts of the international Expo in Shanghai, Denmark has sent the original "Little Mermaid" statue that sits in the harbor of Copenhagen.

The international expo is a kind of "nation branding" event, according to Canada.com. It certainly will give the statue more exposure (they're expecting 70 million visitors to the six-month expo) than she would usually see. Still, it'll stink for Denmark's tourists who miss seeing her.
