Monday movie meme

The Bumbles host the Monday Movie Meme. Stop on by to see what they and the other participants have to share.

This week's topic is all about Sports.

"Share on your blog those movies that address the wide world of sports and link back here at The Bumbles. And don't forget to visit your fellow participants!"

The Cutting Edge: Hockey player Doug is recruited to be Kate's figure skating partner for the Olympics. At first they don't get along, but eventually they come to skate and play nice. Starring D.B. Sweeney and Moira Kelly. A cute Olympic-themed love story.

Cool Runnings: The Jamaican bobsled team(?!) proves itself at the Olympics. Based on a true story.

A League of Their Own. The experiences of the Georgia Peaches, an all-women baseball league the played during World War II. Not a favorite of mine, but there are some amusing and touching scenes.

Million Dollar Baby. An over-the-hill (at age 31) new boxer enlists the help of a washed-up boxing trainer. As the two work together, they develop a special bond.

  1. I loved cool runnings :) You have picked some other good movies too. I was following your photo page--I didn't know you had this one.

  2. I have the first 2 on my list too and if I hadn't gone with an Olympic theme I would have included A LEague of Their Own :)

  3. Oo-oo-oo! So glad Million Dollar Baby made the cut. That really was a good flick - and one I haven't seen around today's posts.
