Monday movie meme

The Bumbles host the Monday Movie Meme. Stop on by to check out the other participants!

This week's topic is Surprise Endings:

Molly came up with a couple of my favorites:

Se7en: Someone is performing grisly murders based on the seven deadly sins. Plus, Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt!
Saw: Plus, Cary Elwes.
The Sixth Sense: Haley Joel Osment sees dead people, and Bruce Willis is the psychiatrist there to help.

Here are some more:

The Village: Another by Shyamalan. Monsters surround a rural turn-of-the-century village.

The Others: Nicole Kidman, two children and three really weird servants await the return of Nicole's soldier/husband at the end of World War II in their haunted English manor.

The Greatest Show on Earth: Charlton Heston runs the circus, absently batting away Betty Hutton's attentions like an annoying fly. No great surprises in the plot...but guess who plays Buttons the Clown!

Arsenic and Old Lace: Not so much a surprise ending, as one surprise after another throughout the plot.

  1. Oooo - a Cary Grant movie! Goin' old school ;0)

On a separate post - my cousin was just telling me about Pandora while we were on vacation - sounds pretty cool.

  2. Love Arsenic and Old Lace--one of my favorite classic movies! And that reminded me of another one with one surprise after another, Harvey.

    My list is here.

  3. The Greatest Show on Earth! "Buttons" terrified me when I was a wee one. Considering who played him, this cracked my mother up. She maintains I am the only person in history to be frightened of that particular actor. (How's that for commenting without give the secret away?)

  4. Gal-

Great comment. So funny that Buttons scared you...although I don't know how I would have felt about him at that age either.
