book of seasons: Glogg

blog it
A favorite recipe in Scandinavia. I remember mom making glogg when I was a kid. It always smelled so good, but was a no-no for us kids.

It turns out that you can make a non-alc version either by boiling off the alcohol or starting with juice instead of wine.

According to Apartment Therapy, it's served with gingerbread and blue cheese. That sounds really good.

This recipe from The World Wide Gourmet doesn't call for oranges, which is good news. AT also recommends a visit to Ikea for some more ideas in a Swedish flavor. I may have to do that this year.
