In memoriam: Farrah Fawcett

photo: msnbc.com

I remember watching Charlie's Angels as a kid. In all honesty, although Farrah was beautiful, I liked Jaclyn Smith better. The two, along with Kate Jackson, ushered in what became known as "jiggle TV." Posters of her in a red swimsuit were a 70s mainstay. My cousin had one in his room.

While everyone admired Farrah's hair and bikini-worthy body, no one gave her much credit as an actress until she starred in The Burning Bed. She gave a powerful performance.

She recently completed a documentary about her battle with cancer.
