New York, Friday, August 15. Ten, and then 20 people worked together to lift a five-ton schoolbus off a pregnant woman this morning, ultimately saving the life of her unborn son.
Although Donette Sanz died as a result of the accident, doctors were able to deliver 3-pound, 6-ounce Sean Michael Sanz safely by emergency Caesarean section. It wouldn't have been possible had 20 strangers not banded together to lift the bus.
New York has come a long way from the days of Kitty Genovese.
