Movie review: The Silence of the Lambs
Tense, taut and scary. Jodie Foster is Claryse Starling, neophyte FBI student sent to interview the infamous Hannibal "the cannibal" Lecter (creepily played by Anthony Hopkins), the brilliant psychiatrist/serial killer. She hopes to gain insight into the mind of a current serial killer that the FBI is hunting.
Lecter demands an exchange of information, "quid pro quo," before he'll start dispensing his hints. Desperate to find her serial killer before he kills again, Claryse complies, giving away personal information and creating a bond between them.
It's a dark, frightening procedural film, excellent in its acting and its storytelling.
