Movie review: Chariots of Fire

I did try, but this movie simply couldn't hold my attention. The story of two Englishmen in the 1920's vying for Olympic gold in track... no matter how beautifully acted still falls short of gripping. I got more out of The Cutting Edge, when talking about sports films.

The genre may be its downfall, for me. Although I will say Vangelis deserved the Original Score Oscar. The opening running sequence has been a subject of parody and homage for years, and deservedly so, mostly due to Vangelis' theme.
