Sunday Scribblings #53: Deepest, darkest...

Hershey's and Nestle's commercials, with deep, dark chocolate pouring in warm flowing ribbons over almonds and raisins.

Sweet and sugary milk chocolate, darker bittersweet chocolate with cranberries and macadamia nuts.

Gentle brown swirls atop an envelope surrounding nougat or lemon creme. Curlicues on near-black shells filled with cherry liquer. Hiding coconut or caramel. Squares and circles with finger-holes, cheating to see what's inside.

The Godiva window where girls in kerchiefs and smeared aprons dunk oversized strawberries into a kettle and lift them, dripping, to fluted tissue displays.

Hollow bunnies in Easter baskets, soon smeared and earless. Little eggs with candy-coated shells.

See more deep, dark things here.

  1. And now I must have chocolate. My taste buds thank you but my hips don't! ;)

  2. I love chocolate too. The darker the better...
